RIVERTRACK

Access to real time river levels and flood alert information is important for communities with localised flood risks. This helps them be aware of the potential for flooding and provides time to respond and prepare.

RiverTrack is a new flood alert device being piloted by the Scottish Flood Forum. The Tynron resilience team have gained their support to install one sensor measuring the real time water level of Shinnel Water.

The sensor and display are currently located at The Garth. The display data is then uploaded to the RiverTrack communities web site every 15 minutes. The alarm limit has been set at 2.1 meters based on experience from the December 2015 river level.

The real time data is available at the link below.
